RPA Spring Fellows Workshop
March 20, 2009
Renaissance Harborplace Hotel
Baltimore, Maryland

The Renal Physicians Association (RPA) is pleased to present the 2009 Spring Renal Fellows Workshop, “Making the Transition from Training to Practice.” This workshop offers useful and valuable information from selected experts in their fields to aid you in making a smooth transition from training into practice. By attending this workshop, you will obtain knowledge and resources such as:

  • The skill of effective contract negotiation. Do you know what to ask on a job interview? Do you know how to obtain the salary you desire?
  • Valuable insight in billing and coding issues. Do you know how to code properly as well as document for your services that will result in accurate billing for care provided to your patients?
  • The nuts and bolts of running a practice. What will the computer system cost; telephone system; health benefits? Where will the money come from to cover the costs? This workshop will offer you knowledge on practice start up costs; running a practice on a day-to-day basis; as well as various streams of income that will cover the costs.
  • A personal testimonial. Hear from a recent fellow who will share his/ her experiences about the transition from training to practice to better prepare you for practice.

Throughout the workshop, you will be given the opportunity to network with other fellows and experienced nephrologists from across the country. The breaks will offer you the opportunity to share and learn from other attendee’s experiences. This is a workshop that every renal fellow must attend.
