Displaced Physicians

The development of the Disaster-related Displaced Physicians’ List occurred as a result of recommendations by the Physician Displacement and Assistance Workgroup as part of the Kidney Community Emergency Response Coalition in January 2006.  This list, hosted by RPA and activated only in times of disasters, has two prime functions.  First, it represents a database for registering, identifying and locating nephrologists who, as a result of tragic circumstances, have been forced to locate elsewhere with little or no notice.  Secondly, it provides a mechanism for interested individuals, such as office or dialysis staff, patients, or physicians treating those patients, as well as renal organizations, dialysis chains, and others to contact those same nephrologists.  The creation and use of this database is considered a service to the renal community; therefore, it must be understood that the information provided herein cannot be considered privileged and may be accessed by links from other Internet websites
